CLOAKROOM RULES
1. Use of the cloakroom is at the user’s own risk. Title 9 of Book 7 of the Dutch Civil Code concerning “safekeeping” does not apply to agreements between “Bar Bascule” and cloakroom users. 2. A fixed fee is charged for use of the cloakroom, payable with the exact amount. Only coats, bags, helmets and umbrellas are accepted as items. These or similar items may not be taken inside, with the exception of handbags. Items which, including their contents, have a value exceeding euro 50 must not be deposited for safekeeping and Bascule accepts no liability for damage to or loss of property worth more than 50 euro. 3. Bascule is entitled to inspect the contents of items. Bascule reserves the right to refuse to store valuable, oversized or unusual items or items with (potentially) prohibited, dangerous or questionable contents. The user indemnifies Bascule against damage caused by the items (or their contents) deposited by the user for safekeeping. 4. One receipt is issued per item deposited for safekeeping. Items will only be returned upon presentation of this receipt to a Bascule cloakroom attendant. The same applies to the temporary return of items. In the latter case, a new receipt will only be issued upon payment. 5. If the receipt is lost, Bascule will endeavour to locate the item in question after closing time or the end of the event. If no receipt can be presented, Bascule is in no way liable for the consequences. 6. Naturally, Bascule will endeavour to ensure that all items deposited with it for safekeeping are carefully looked after and returned. However, Bascule cannot guarantee that items will always be returned (undamaged). 7. Bascule is not liable for damage suffered by the user, except for damage caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of Bascule itself or its employees. Liability for indirect or consequential damage is excluded. Bascule’s liability is at all times limited to euro 50 per item deposited for safekeeping (including its contents).
